I especially enjoyed the Scaravelli yoga – it’s based on the style of yoga developed by Vanda Scaravelli, who emphasised the importance of the spine, the natural gravity of the body and awareness of the breath. Based at the lovely Ngare Sero safari lodge on the slopes of Mount Meru overlooking snow capped Kilimanjaro, the company’s new retreat runs 9-15 April and includes healing therapies from India, Tibet, Zanzibar and the UK, as well as detox meals, yoga, sunset meditation, cooking classes and personalised nutritional guidance."

“You practise yoga before breakfast, and enjoy treatments in the afternoons. Jools gives expert deep tissue and hot stone massages; you can also try craniosacral therapy and chavutti thiramul massage. Isreali therapist Ariel Rubin offers Tibetan healing, combining acupuncture, osteopathy, bodywork, stretches and Tibetan medicine in his sessions. The weekends include two treatments. Jools chooses different houses in rural locations for her yoga breaks, such as Holycombe House in the Cotswolds. The weekends take a maximum of 15 people."
